There used to be a way to change the screen to make the background black and the text white on the old iBooks. But now, with the "updated" version just called Books, I cannot find that option, nor how to find it.
Can anyone help me please?

If the book supports it it's still done via the same method e.g. in the book tap the screen so that the top menu bar shows and tap the 'AA' icon (if it shows) and see if it gives you different theme options.
Not all ibooks (I assume it's a book from the iTunes Bookstore) support the changing of the font and/or theme.
Book to you refer - it is ebook or PDF?
PDF usually do not have option to change background color. (I use PDF to EPUB + to workaround this)
Ah, yes, the one was a pdf. Funny, I couldnt find any information at all on search engines.

Strangely enough there is no "AA" icon there on the top right of my screen. Only a a little circle with a pencil point inside - pressing that gives me various sizes marking tools and choice of highlighting colors and a circled +, which opens text, signature, magnifier and annotation choices.
That's why I am SO frustrated - I have researched this till my hair turned gray. I dont want to do that triple press thing some recommend - that's not easy.
Does anyone else have any advice please - maybe I should uninstall the app and then reinstall it?
