Accented characters do not appear on the Touch Bar anymore
A long press of any letter used to bring up the accented character menu on the Touch Bar but it does not anymore. How can i fix that? Thanks!

I have and it works fine with any new or guest user accounts. That's why I know it's something with my account, but I can't figure it out for the life of me...
Yes, that can be really hard. Presumably a conflicting app (any antivirus stuff?) or a broken .plist in Home/Library/Preferences. You might just have to move to a new account.
Have you tried setting up a new user account and seeing if the problem exists when you are logged into that?
Do you still see the popup menu with accented characters in the app you are using on the screen?

I have the same issue. It's not an anti-virus thing (I don't have those installed), the popup on screen works, but that shouldn't be appearing at all. PRAM and SMC reset - nada. Safe Boot also doesn't help. Apple Support has no answer either.
I'm completely at a loss. I've been going up and down the internet to figure this out, tried just about any suggestion out there. Also reported it as a bug to Apple. The only thing left is what the guy in the Apple store said: go nuclear - make a hard backup, not time-machine, of the files, then format drive. I really want to avoid that, tho.
Has anyone figured out what is wrong here? It's so frustrating not to be able to fix a problem...
Yeah, I have no antivirus stuff other than Adblocker for Safari...I'm slowly but surely starting to think that I won't get around making a new account and migrating everything...
