Macbook Pro - accessing the app store

trying to sign into the app store on a new Macbook Pro - running Mohave OS but the app store wont register my apple ID or password - what do i do to enable this?

Allan - I followed your instructions: computer screen, choose Go > Go to Folder.
In the box, enter /var/db/crls/.
Click Go.
Drag the files labeled crlcache.db and ocspcache.db to the Trash.

However the only file that came up was crlcache2.db & the file ocspcache.db was not on the list

what do I do now as I can sign into iTunes ok but can not sign into applications?
