Apple Configurator 2 [Configurationutilitykit.vpp.error-0x2583(9603)

Trying to follow up on this original post from July 18. I have just hit the same error message on certain apps and was hoping somebody - may be even from Apple might have found the solution.

Hi guys,

When trying to use Apple Config 2 I am getting the "[Configurationutilitykit.vpp.error-0x2583(9603)" error.

I am getting it even when not running any operations on it, just pops up and then it does not work properly because of it.

I have been looking for awhile for an answer to resolving this, but all the awnsers I am finding are not very useful, like do one app at a time etc and all date back to 2015-2016.

Any ideas?

Hi,

I do not play with Apple Configurator 2 by myself, but a staff of my company met the same problem.

After asking to Apple's support, they gave me a workaround and it solve the problem.

  1. Initialize and supervise devices.
  2. At this time, there should no Apps in devices. But try to remove Apps from those devices.
  3. After removing Apps, install Apps as regular way.

The staff reported me his success!

Best regards and good luck!

Apple VPP site is malfunctioning = ConfigurationUtilityKit.vpp.error – 0x2583 (9603)

This test result is NOT THE ANSWER but it shows that communication with VPP site is still connecting but Apple VPP site is just malfunctioning.

Tested the revoking apps for a specific iPad proves that the Apple VPP site is just malfunctioning

Test: "Window menu > VPP Assignments, search using the device serial # and revoked the license for each app. "

Then it properly applies the VPP apps in the Profile to that one iPad but only that one time. USELESS at a busy library

This proves communication to and from the VPP site is working it is just failing to apply the apps and licenses that belong to us.

Apple VPP site is DOWN as far as our needs go

I believe the issue is Apple wide and has something to do with the VPP store having issues. I have also been getting the same issue as of around 3 days now and have attempted every solution fix mentioned on what little resources i found online which included:

  • Logging in and out of VPP account
  • Logging in and out of apple account on Solution Configurator 2
  • Restarting the Mac I am using to deploy apps and configs to iPads.
  • Attempting to push updates to Mac
  • Wiping configurations and restarting.
  • Attempting to perform deployment on only one device instead of several at a time.
  • Attempting to install a single app only. (Did you actually have luck with this)? Not that it helps as I am attempting to install 30+ apps on each device for over 180 devices.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I was having the same problem this morning. I tried everything - restoring the iPads and preparing them again but I still got the same error message when I tried to reinstall apps. If you check the iPads you will not see any apps except for the bundled apps. But if you go to AC2, select the iPads and go to the Apps tab you will still see the list of apps that were previously installed. Select all the apps and delete them. Now you can reinstall the apps. I notice the new apps you purchased through VPP are not affected by this error.
