MacOS High Sierra sleeps while Kodi 17.6 is playing

I'd just like to refer to the following thread and wonder what the solution was:

I have the same problem with Kodi 17..6 and MacOS High Sierra. Hard to believe this issue is still happening? This is a MacOS problem not a video player problem.

Mac mini does not wake the screen up I just bought a new Mac Mini M1 with 8GB of RAM running Big Sur 11.5.2 and every time the computer and screen go to sleep, the computer will not be able to wake the screen up. And I've seen a bunch of questions on same topic from other users. The same problem was with my old 2013 MacBook Pro laptop. The question is why Apple sells its devices so expensive and we constantly have to suffer from this shit?

Yes 2016 15-inch macbook pro. I understand sleep settings and they are being obeyed. I set them to 2 hours as a workaround for now. There is a warning right in the screen indicating that setting up the sleep time can limit the life of my screen so I would like to know how to set it lower but to have it stay awake just if a video is playing in the foreground.

So basically MacOS can't detect if something is running and just stay awake without third party tools?

It should, but since we don't seem to know the cause yet, was offering possible workarounds... & the Terminal commands are not 3rd party.

Correct, but the terminal commands just appear to be an alternative way to set the sleep time higher which I have already done.

Well, Laptops are pretty weird & controlling about Sleep, my Mac Pro or iMacs or Minis never do sleeping if something is running.
