Audible automatically starts playing when wireless headphones connected

I installed the Audible app on my iPhone 7 and use it with wireless earbuds. Every time I pair my ear buds with my phone, Audible starts playing whatever book I'm currently listening to. For example, I just got off a conference call, turned off my ear buds, and heard my book playing through my phone. It had been playing the whole time I was on my call. Audible swears this is not their problem and has no fix for me. I've tried everything I can think of to solve this, with no luck. I really hope someone can help!

Good afternoon AStutes1,

If I understand your question, you have the Audible app installed on your iPhone and it is playing the current book when you have your earphones on. It sounds like you have the app open and running in the background. I would suggest quitting the Audible app when you are finished using it. The app should not launch just because you switch your sound source to earphones. Be sure to open the Settings app and swipe down and select the Audible app to see what your options are for this particular piece of software. For example, you can turn off cellular data for Audible and only use it when connected to Wi-Fi.

How to force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Take care.
