How to mute calls on iPhone from headset.

Is there any way to mute a call without having to press the mute button on the screen? I often work in situations where the phone itself is not readily at hand but the remote buttons on the headset are available. I know the main button hangs up but is it possible to set a double-click mute and unmute?
