Bitcoin miner virus problem?

Hi all.

Basically, I've recently become aware of the fact I may have a bitcoin mining trojan on my mac book pro 2017. This is half expected, as I've been downloading some software from questionable sources, and only using AVG (stupid I know). Now the real question I have is how dangerous is this software to my device, in terms of the actual power it's draining. As you can see below, my activity monitor is clearing showing a HUGE CPU usage, however all operations run completely fine, and according to the graph below.. all is as it should be. I might add my laptop fan is fairly loud at the moment, but as I said no notable defects and I'm running some pretty powerful software (Ableton Live 10 with many vst plugins). Essentially I'm trying to avoid a complete reinstall, and being honest wouldn't bother if there's a way around it! Any help/advice would be greatly appreciate.

Thanks!

Use  the latest release of Malwarebytes for Mac to remove malware installed on your Mac.

     Install guide:       https://support.malwarebytes.com/docs/DOC-1817

     Uninstall Guide:  https://support.malwarebytes.com/docs/DOC-1190

The installer may ask you to allow it in Security & Privacy  /System Preference. Allow it.

     Click the “Scan Now” button.

Repeat the scan couple of times.

Once done quit Malwarebytes for Mac.

     Restart the computer.
