I bought used airpods and they aren't registered to my iCloud. Is there a way to fix that?

Once your AirPods are set up, they will be recognized on your other devices signed in to iCloud with the same Apple ID.
The “Connect and use your AirPods” article has a whole section devoted to using your iPhone to set up your AirPods. So there’s plenty of information there so you can tell if you’re set up correctly.
But if I go to my icloud id in my settings and scroll down, the airpods aren't there
I connected them to my phone, but again they are used airpods so I'm not entirely sure.
