Mapped network drive issues

Hello,

I work at a high school with 2 Mac labs, and have an Active Directory structure. Each user has their own credentials and their own network storage. When a user logs in to one of the iMacs, they should see 3 drives on their dock. 1 is network drive, 2 are classroom drives. They should be able to click their network drive and automatically be signed in because of their AD credentials. But when they click on their globe, it asks for them to sign in. They put their password in, and click connect and it brings up a box of volumes in that drive but only has profile listed. And they don't have access to that volume.

However, they can command+k to "SMB://server/username$" and not have to login.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. All the iMacs are on 10.13.6
