My Amex card connected to Apple Pay has stopped working at Peet's Coffee

I use Apple Pay regularly via my Apple Watch 2 and iPhone 6 Plus. Lately Apple Pay transactions at my local Peet's Coffee will not go through and I have to switch another card to pay at Peet's with Apple Pay.

Any idea why this is happening? Maybe something to do with trying to pay via the Apple Watch? Tomorrow I'll try using my iPhone and see if that works.

After WatchOS 8 update Apple Pay is not working I have recently updated my Apple Watch to WatchOS 8. After that I cannot pay using Apple Pay. After tapping the side button twice payment menu activates but any terminal reacts when Apple Watch is brought to it. Payment on the iPhone with the same card goes through. It looks like some NFC issue on the watch or something. Please help.

The Apple Pay function has stopped working Hi. The Apple Pay function on my Apple Watch 4 series has suddenly stopped working. I double tap the side wheel but doesn’t bring up my bank card like it used to. Have I changed a setting somehow? thank you for any help on this [Re-Titled by Moderator]
