Logic Pro X Momentary Stops

Simple Problem Statement:

Logic Pro X randomly hesitates in playback mode. Can't predict it, can't stop it. Happens when some pretty heavy duty plugins are in use - both Kontakt and reverbs. Metronome clicks stop, midi notes missed/skipped, then Logic goes right on as if nothing happened.

Details:

Buffer set at 1024 no help

Buffer size set at Large no help

Project resolution 48khz, 24 bit OR 44.1khz 16 bit - doesn't matter

Have exhausted all Kontakt (Native Instruments) suggestions for memory server issues...

Bluetooth=off

Firewall=off

Have tried running Logic in low resolution mode. No help.

This is not an audio glitch, click, pop. No audio production issues, Logic just stops momentarily.

Have deleted and reinstalled Logic. Have reset preferences. No help.

If you, kind soul, have actually read this far, I thank you. Now, is there any help for me in resolving this issue? I'm about to go mad.

Thank you!

Tim

That's a Mid 2017 iMac running in Retina mode?

Don't know how much help this is going to be, if any.

Try these one at a time:

--Logic's Preferences/Audio Multithreading set to "Playback Tracks"

--Also, under "Processing Threads"... set it to 4, Logic will only use the hardware cores. Not sure what the result will be, it may hose your performance but you might be surprised.

--Last, with Logic not running open the Applications folder and do a "Get Info" on Logic, there should be a setting to run Logic in Lo-Res mode, give it a try.

--Kontakt's Memory server should be disabled.

That said, several here have have had problems with the Mojave/Kontakt combination.

Pancenter:

Good news! The problem is gone.

In addition to following all your suggestions I also

followed the link to the Focusrite website and poured over

their support articles for Mojave OS. Reading there, I decided to

disable my WIFI, turn off antivirus protection (Avast) and turn off my

password management program. I can enable WIFI, virus, and password

stuff when needed. My password manager is Dashlane - so it seems Avast,

Dashlane, and WIFI were causing the OS to say, "I need to do this now -

stop everything else for a moment." I'm certain increasing the

instrument pre-load buffer in Kontakt helped, too.

Thank you very much!
