What is the best way to transfer files from old IMAC (2007) to new MacBook Pro ?

Using your Time Machine backup is the easiest and best way to move your data to a new Mac.


Just follow the instructions at > How to move your content to a new Mac - Apple Support


If you are not using Time Machine to backup your old iMac and choose to use the network option. It is best to use a direct Ethernet connection between the two Mac's.
