I have i5 or i7 ?

Good day! I have mac mini 2012, I bought it in the official Apple store in 2014. There was no repair, just increasing memory + installing a second disk (SSD). Why is the i7 processor written in the Apple hardware test mode, but it costs i5. Clean install Mac OS did - does not change. Who knows the answer?

can't get Apple Hardware Test to work I'm purchasing a used 2012 Mac Pro (5,1), with High Sierra installed. It seems to be working fine, but I'd like to run hardware diagnostics just to check things out, before I finalize the transaction. I've tried shutting down and then re-starting while holding 'D', command-D, and option-D. But in each case, it simply boots up normally (comes to the login screen). I was able to boot up in recovery mode (using command-R) and check and there seems to be no firmware password set. I am at wit's end. Any suggestions ? It did not come with any of its original DVDs.

Click on the Apple icon in upper left and select About This Mac. Then System Report.What CPU is listed in Hardware Overview?

says the i% ius 2.6 GHz while an i7 is either 2.6 or 2.3 GHz

I say you have an i5.

Everywhere it is written i5! and on the box too :)

Only in the "apple hardware test" is written i7.

Does the name change when overclocking the processor?

Thanks for the answer! Characteristics I know! Is this a bug with an apple? Or the system got on mac mini with an error?
