MacBook Air with Free Beats

Before I started my first day at college, I bought a MacBook Air in August of 2017 from Best Buy. They were doing the free beats promotion for students, however someone told me that they only do that if you ask for them. I didn't realize this until after the fact. I feel like it's much too late now, but I had to ask-- is there any way to receive them now? Was I even eligible since they were bought from Best Buy? Am I always going to wonder what my life would have been like if I got those free beats?
