iPhone XR getting hot and battery draining

I’ve had my iPhone XR since October and over the past few months I’ve noticed that my phone starts to get really hot and the battery drains rapidly (most recently 15% in half an hour). The only way I can cool the phone down is by turning it off. It gets hot when I’m connected to WiFi or just using my mobile data. Do you think my phone is faulty or is there a setting change that I can do to resolve this? Thanks in advance.
