I can't sign into imessage or facetime on my macbook pro

I can't sign into imessage or facetime on my macbook pro. When I try to sign in it says an error occured during activation.

Imessage Activation I have MacOS 15.15.5 Catalina on my Macbook Air Early 2015. I am having trouble signing in to imessage and face-time. For imessage when i sign in with my apple id, sometime i am able to sign in to the app but then it opens preferences to sign in again and then it says: "An error occurred while Activation/activationg imessage". iMessage and Facetime "error during activation" I get an "error during activation" when I try to sign onto to iMessage and Facetime on my iMac running Mojave. I've tried turning off Apple's Firewall, Sophos anti-virus, and my VPN. It still doesn't work. I can sign onto my Apple ID fine, and so it is not my password or account. I've looked around for other suggestions but found none that worked. Should I somehow delete both iMessages and Facetime and re-install? Or delete any library preferences that I find with "imessage" or "facetime" in the file name?
