iPhone 6s won't update or restore due to error 9

Trying to update/restore my phone and I keep getting an error 9 when connected to iTunes during the verifying process. The phone now seems to be stuck with the Connect to iTunes screen and every time I connect I get the error 9. I see that error 9 looks like a USB issue but I tried 5 different USB cables and 2 different ports on this computer, though I don't have another computer to try. I'm starting to think maybe this is a hardware issue with my phone from seeing other similar issues on youtube but I don't know....

If you already followed the steps provided by this support guide:

If you see error 9, 4005, 4013, or 4014 when you restore your iOS device - Apple Support

and the issue still persists, contact Apple Support using this link: Contact - Official Apple Support

or

Have your device inspected at an Apple Store or Authorized Service Provider: Apple – Location Selector

Well, if you can't borrow a different computer from your friends, you can (making an appontment) visit an Apple Store or AASP. They will make their equipments available for you.

I'm not able to contact apple support because I cannot provide a phone number because my phone is stuck on the Connect to iTunes screen, as I mentioned. I was hopeful there was something other than taking it in for repair that I could try. I have already done everything the support guide recommends.
