I have a new iPad, and the genius told me I could load it there from the cloud in 15 minutes or do it at home. I'm home and the iPad told me to sign in with my iPhone. i followed directions and it has been two hours and still not set up. How long does this take?
The how long can also depend on how much you are downloading. Not only content but app as well.
A general 15 minute set up and activation may work for an iPad with nothing beyond the basic. But download a few gig of apps and data that can take time depending on your connection speed. I don’t use iCloud for my devices, I use iTunes, but it can still take a couple of hours to fully set up a new device from backup.
