Request timed out on Apple Music

I have a family subscription to Apple Music and whenever I access it using my mobile phone’s data, I get a request timed out error. I also can’t download apps. I can surf the net and also use Spotify. Only, it doesn’t let me download anything from Apple. I asked my mobile service provider to check, but they let me know that I should check with Apple first since it only happens when I access your services. I tried a soft reset, logging out of my Apple account and logging back in. I can access Apple Music when I’m on WiFi or if I connect to my mobile data through a VPN. Any suggestions on how to solve this?

Definitely not an Apple issue - confirmed today. Same issues with me, starting end of Feb. After ridiculous runaround from Bell I switched to Telus. Problem is gone.

After numerous conversations with both Apple and Bell (it's not us, it's them, etc.) a technician from Bell called me yesterday to confirm that they've had a dozen or so cases (which is not enough to create an 'escalation'), but are aware of the issue and have been working on a solution. However, I noticed Friday afternoon (March 15 - it's been an issue since March 1) that I no longer had an issue (I didn't do any updates or any other troubleshooting - it just started working normal).

The technician also confirmed that it's not 100% fixed, so some people (including me) might continue to experience issues while they fix it. I also asked who's responsible for this Apple or Bell? He confirmed that if there is no issue with streaming on wifi then it's a Bell issue.

Hope everyone's issues get resolved soon.

Having same issue. Any chance you're on Bell Mobility? Some quick research seems to point to an issue between Bell and Apple on this.

Bell doesn’t seem to want to acknowledge the issue is on their end, but I can confirm that it is. I switched to Telus and am no longer having trouble.

Yes. Also on Bell. Spoke to Apple and they said it might have something to do with their latest OS update. Do we need to talk to Bell?

I’m on Virgin Mobile which runs on the Bell network. It only happened last week of Feb. I tried talking to Virgin and they told me it was an issue with Apple since I have no other issues with other non-Apple apps :(

Had the same issue on Bell. Suddenly fixed itself as of today with no specific action taken.

I’ve got the same issue. Apple Music streams fine on wifi but not on cellular. Says the request timed out. Started happening a couple weeks ago. I shouldn’t have to download all my songs just to listen to them, I’ve always been able to stream them. I’ve signed out and in, reinstalled Apple Music, checked all the relevant settings. Please help
