AirPrint? Canon LiDE 300? Canon IJ Scan Utility Lite?

Is there some way to see if AirPrint is correctly installed and running on my Mac Pro, running High Sierra 10.13.6? I just bought a Canon LiDE 300 scanner that the Mac can't see. It doesn't show up in "Printer & Scanners" in System Preferences. I can't launch Canon's software app because it doesn't see it, but VueScan works just fine.

State of latest airprint Brother drivers for Big Sur I have a 2017 iMac and a 2020 MacBook Air, both accessing a Brother MRC-9340CDW over my home network via AirPrint. The iMac gives me the option to scan when I look at it via System Preferences; the Air does not. Looking at System Information, I see that the iMac's printer driver version is 2.0 and Scanning support is "Yes". On the Air, version 3.0, scanning support "No". I've seen reference to the Brother iPrint&Scan app available in the App Store. Is this the way it has to be done now? Does anyone here know if scan support was removed from the AirPrint driver on purpose? (yes, I'll ask Brother also, but their site seems to be having some issues right now). Thanks for any clues.

The Canon LiDE 300 requires a USB connection. If you desire a wireless AirPrint scanner or multifunction device choose one from this list: About AirPrint - Apple Support
