Application Loader is not working

Hi, when uploading an app to the Appstore I am stuck at "Authenticating with App Store".

I followed suggestions online to rename ~/.itmstransporter to ~/.itmstransporter_OLD and to start Application Loader manually:

/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Applications/Application\ Loader.app/Contents/itms/bin/iTMSTransporter

Now, i get a lot of errors like:

java.net.SocketException: Connection reset

Is there a quick way to fix it?
