WARNING ABOUT WIFI ASSIST WHEN TRAVELING

When you travel overseas and turn off International Roaming, WiFi Assist remains ON unless you also turn it off in the "Cellular" settings. We incurred significant, unexpected charges with our iPhone 7 in Mexico while using an airport WiFi with International Roaming turned off. Apple does not make this clear anywhere for the typical user. Beware.

I have wifi calling setup on my carriers account setting and dont seem to have any trouble. However in the last 2 days I noticed something odd depending on the Wifi router I'm attached to. At work when Wifi is on I see Wifi Calling displayed up by the signal meter, but at home on Wifi or my sons house that is Not being displayed while hooked to Wifi. Does that make any difference & should I not be concerned or is there something I need to check maybe on the router at home & my sons vs what I'm seeing while at the office. Cellular Usage alert when WiFi might be available. I would like to see an iPhone setting that will alert the user that they are using cellular data when WiFi may be available. Setting would assist those who are tied to data plans. Thank you.

Wi-Fi Calling In iOS 13.6 under Settings/Phone/Wi-Fi Calling there is a setting called "Prefer Wi-Fi while Roaming". I am not sure what this means and how it works. I have searched for an explanation, but can't find one. Can someone please clarify. Thanks
