iPhone 4 won't stop vibrating

Today I was surfing the net and my iPhone 4's screen went black and proceeded to vibrate nonstop. I was suggested to hold the Lock and home button to reset, but that did not work. I am now waiting for the battery to go dead. Has anyone else ran into this issue?

this same thing happened to me about 3 weeks ago, leaving me with my back up Razr (not the newer version) and when i took it into the apple store they told me i was 33 days over the warranty. i called apple support to see if maybe they could help me out and nothing. so now i am stuck with a flawless screen and beautiful back glass of an iphone 4 that doesn't do anything except vibrate when i plug it into the charger.

also, since i just read this on another post, i took off the back case, disconnected the battery and reconnected it, it still continues to do the same thing.

It happened to me as well yesterday.

At that time it was ringing alarm which I set the timer earlier and I was going to pick it up. Then it went into vibrating brick mode. I expected incoming call at that moment as well so I presume that this combination may trigger this bug.

Incoming call + Ringing Alarm

It took me while before I can HARD RESET it down, luck that it still obeyed me at that state.

Then I rebooted and have to wait at apple logo at booting a bit. It came back without any issue ... so far.

Hi

My client had the same incessant vibrating behaviour

It was in her handbag to start with,

and someone must have called her up

Upon taking it out of her bag, the phone was vibrating

on and off (as if ringing) and the screen was black (off)

Nothing helped :

(home + plug into iTunes)

then (Lock + Home), (Lock + Home + Vol+)

and same again while plugged in to the charger

Many indicated that things returned to normal once

the battery ran out...four or five hours later

I didn't have the time to wait, or the desire to inflict

such a long vibraiting ordeal on to the phone

I came across the following video where some guy

shows you that by removing three (tiny) screws you

can disconnect the battery:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ak_bn2ZRApo

So I followed the steps and in less than a minute

I had managed to lift the battery connector sufficently

so as to break the connexion and thus stop the vibrating

transe altogether. I was then able to switch the phone

back on "et voilà !"

I didn't feel like completely disconnecting the connector

because, as the video shows, there's another little piece

that fits right beneath it which I felt might be **** to put

back in its place. So I simply lifted the connector close

the side closest to the battery.

We had also rung the local Apple Store to get some help.

But all they said was that if "home + plug into Itunes" does

nothing then your out of luck. They would be happy to take

a look or replace it for 161€ and there was no option to

recover lost data. They're running a business innit ?!

hope this can help other
