itunes store will not open. I want to look up songs and All I get is the Welcome to Itunes Store screen but no music options.

I open Itunes on my laptop and click on the store so I can look up songs to purchase but the store will not open. All I get is the Welcome to Itunes store screen. There is not an option to click on anything else. Why is this? I have the latest version of itunes downloaded and my pc is updated as well.
