I can not install Gimp 2.10.8, even though I have "open apps downloaded from: anywhere" clicked.

Hi I am running Sierra 10.13.6 on my MacBook air and can not install Gimp 2.10.8. I have clicked the "anywhere" choice on the security and privacy in system preferences. I copied the downloaded disc image and copied it to applications. The ICON shows after the checks but clicking on the ICON I get a message that never clears "verifying ...".

Right-click on the GIMP application icon, and choose Open from the secondary menu. You will see a verifying dialog, and then another dialog with an Open option on it. Click Open again. That should finally launch GIMP and you will not have to repeat this ritual the next time that you double-click on GIMP to launch it.
