How can I set a Time Limit on the iPad for Children?

I understand how to set a time limit on a specific app...but then my child can just switch to a different app and keep playing. How do I set a time limit for the entire iPad 3?

App Time Limits - frustrated parent I've seen enough articles online about how to switch on app time limits in iOS to know how to do it, and enough articles from people saying it's not working. I agree in that the reliability of it is absolute garbage. Does anyone have any more recent and actually useful insight into this issue. And to Apple, sort it out. Screen time limits I am frustrated by the fact that my teen can bypass the screen time limits. Is there any way I can limits or outright prevent my teen from downloading apps (like Tik Tok andSnapchat- that are addicting)? I am left with either taking the phone away altogether or installing a third party app. Has anyone found ways to do this successfully?

Apple restrictions I set up Downtime for a child iPhone. The problem is that when the child opens the app that is blocked due to downtime, the child can still access the app. On the bottom of the screen it says ignore limit and give there options. One is remind me in 15 min and one is ignore limit for today. This simple hack let’s you get around Downtime. Back in IOS 13 it only gave you an option for one more minute (which is also still there). Please help me to fix this.

You can schedule specific downtime hours for the entire iPad. See “Downtime” here.
