Usability/reachability
Hi,
I've just moved to an iPhone XR on a plan with Vodafone from an iPhone 8 and I'm REALLY struggling with the transition. I realise I've made a big mistake.
I find the Face ID slow and ponderous in all but the best possible setting of sitting quietly on a couch or chair which for me is very rarely. Most often I'm on the go, walking, carrying things, busy. As an authentication method it's a big step backward, slower with extra steps.
Add to that the size and weight of the phone and the extremely limited Reachability options for one handed use and I'm finding the phone is simply unusable for me.
I've attached a design for improved UX using the gestures.
I hope these can be implemented into the Reachability settings.
I'd like the option to add more functional widgets (as opposed to apps) such as the torch, control centre, volume, brightness etc within the widgets section to the left of the home screen.
Secondly I'd like to be able to customise the swipe gestures on the bottom of the screen dividing it into thirds to provide me with the one handed functionality I need from a simple gesture. This could be expanded on to all manner of custom gestures as can be imagined.
I'll go back to my iPhone 8 and sell myiPhone XR as unfortunately Vodafone won't swap it for an iPhone XS which I believe will mitigate some of my reachability issues - but not all.
Kind regards
Lee
