Incorrect Printdialog menu

Hi'

The printdialog menu on my 27" Imac and my 17" PROMac is different to the printdialog shown in the manual for my Canon printer TS8051. The function "Color Options" is missing on my computer running OS 10.13.6. Great problem, that I not is able to work with the color options on my new printer.

Kindly

Eigil Nybo / DK

If you've not already done so, download and install the Canon driver package, remove and re-add the printer using  > System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, and see if the printer now does what you expect.

There are a lot of sketchy-looking probably-not-Canon printer driver sites around, too.

One more thing to try; see if it's the AirPrint drivers getting in the way.

Short: When adding the printer, select the "Use:" entry that appears in the add-printer dialog, and choose "Select Software" to manually select the driver software to use, find the vendor software for the specific printer from the list, and select it.

If not, then Canon is in the best position to sort this, within their own drivers, and then—if there's a macOS bug lurking here—in coordination with Apple.
