Google Voice on MAC desktop

I'm new to Google Voice and just installed it on my iPhone and iPad and have setup my Google Voice account. I would like to find a way use Google Voice from my MAC desktop, without using the Chrome browser. Is there a reliable desktop app that will interface with Google Voice?

I'm using Google Voice for business, and I don't always have my phone next to my computer. So I'm trying to figure out how I can be alerted to an incoming call . . .
