Two-step authentication pops up on both devices at the same time

I am asked to sign in here for support with user id and two-step authentication using Safari .
Two-step authentication is via my iPhone iOS 12.1.4
When I ask for the verification on both devices it is asked to confirm the other asking device so I can get my verification code.
The codes don't work.

That means I've tried codes given on both devices. When I validate one device the code disappears and is not accepted on the other device.

This is no good. Can you help me? What I can imagine is that one device, my iPhone is not really valid for two-step authentication.

You are able to validate one device? If that works and you request another code, does the 2nd code work for the device that isn't validated?

Thank you for your reaction.

No only one code is working, what is a good sign I think (not insecure at least).

Meanwhile I logged out of my account on the iPhone and deleted it from the list of known devices to check if a new setup solves the issue.

I also have other major issues with my appleID. Shall we discuss them here?

(scary name you have.... makes me nervous.. hahaha)

Thanks. I got a bit confused. I still have this issue.

I looked up my appleID and I only have 2factor Authentification
Still, when I log in I get on both devices at the same time a code.

Why did we marked that as solved?

2 Step Verification or 2 Factor Authentication? If you log in below, does either/both show as trusted devices?

When I log in both devices show as trusted devices. It is the two-factor authentication.

If they both show on your device list, both devices are trusted, so they receive the code when you log in.
