Say my AirPods were stolen and someone else connected them to their phone, would my phone still track them or would updates on their location stop?
The only information your're going to get from Find My iPhone is the last location at which they were in BT range of your phone. If they are picked up and moved, you won't have any way of knowing. If they are connected to someone else's phone, you won't know.
Wait for the class to be over, then go look.

Thanks for responding, that being said since the find my iPhone app still gives me the option to play a sound on my AirPods, does this mean they’re still paired to my phone?
