Thunderbolt device recognized but not working

Got a bit of an issue here. Got an Antelope orion 32+ gen 3 which is connected through thunderbolt. It shows up as connected but the software accompanied with the audio interface does not seem to recognize the device. I am working on a imac12,2 from 2011 running high sierra. Tried the antelope support and they simply tell me to buy a new mac... Apple support does not seem to be familiar with the problem. Tried installing all kinds of firmware updates but all tell me my system is up to date. Who can help?!?!

Since it looks like your machine should meet the minimum system requirements, I'd say return it. The specs on the web site indicate it should work with your Mac. If it doesn't, then either their specs are wrong, or it is defective...

Buying a new mac is not an option since i just spend it on the audio interface and this one is still working like new for me.. Not going to spend another 3000 euro's on a new imac. There must be an option somehow

They tried getting it work though Teamviewer and actually the guy said at the end of the conversation i should get a thunderbolt chip firmware update which would maybe resolve this issue. Forgot to put this in my original post. He also showed me this article https://en.antelopeaudio.com/2016/09/unit-is-not-recognized-on-2011-mac-over-thunderbolttm/ tried all mentioned.

Other port also does not work.. Device get's recognized by system but not software.

I would take the advice given - buy a new Mac. I would also investigate the system requirements for the device itself. Keep in mind that one of the Thunderbolt ports on that model is intended to be used with a Mini-DisplayPort cable. Try using the other port.
