My iPod touch 6g is overheating

So my iPod is constantly overheating and I was wondering if that was bad or harmed it in anyway? If it does is there anything I can do to fix it?

This page has a section that can let you know why an iOS device might get warm: Keeping iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch within acceptable operating temperatures. If you aren't seeing the temperature alert shown in the article, it is likely your iPod is functioning normally.
