Can’t hit back to go to previous webpage...why not?

Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t. When it doesn’t, I have to close out of the browser and start over again. Rather annoying.

When I try to go back to the previous page either using Twitter, Instagram or Youtube, it opens to the same page I'm currently in before opening to the previous page that I want to go back to. Stop Safari from loading a second page by going too far down on current page How do I stop Safari from leaving a current webpage I am on when I go to the bottom of a webpage and flick up too hard or I go too far down using a track pad? Safari loads another page that it has saved somewhere and I can't figure out how to make Safari stop loading it. I have deleted the history and stored data and restarted Safari. This does NOT work. I've Las looked for a way to turn this function off, but I cannot find anything. I clicked my iPad as the device, but I also find the same problem with my iMac and my iPhone. I have a spinal cord injury that makes motor control problematic and I find myself no longer able to use Safari because I risk leaving the webpage I am working on and losing all my work. (ARGH!) Any thoughts?

Safari Browser Question Seems after the last update, that when I’m using safari, it returns to the top after I click on a page. Super annoying, as I’m looking at a page on the bottom of search results and go back…it shoots to the top of results. I have to scroll back down to continue. Is there a setting I can use to have it stay at the same result after I go back from looking at a particular page

There are two possibilities.

There are no previous page
You are not at the correct position to activate the back "<" (less than sign)

If back page exists, pull down the screen sharply. It will get activated.
