Recently had screen replaced (at Apple Store) now the wifi (5ghz) keeps dropping (and 2.4ghz slow when bluetooth is on)
(Macbook Pro 2017, 256)
So my wifi never used to drop and I never had any connectivity issues at all. Until I recently had my screen replaced at the Apple store thats when the issues started. My home network we have 2 wifi SSIDs from the same router (sagem fast 5355). One is 5ghz and the other is 2.4ghz. I had previously exclusively used the 2.4ghz connection at its full speed on my mac. Which is about 50mbps down and 20mbps upload. When I connected it after the screen replacement it never gets about 0.01mbps on either end...unless I turn off the bluetooth. Then it works at full speed.
So I figured I'll just stick with the 5ghz since its full speed. But I noticed it keeps dropping every 10 to 20 minutes. I'll see the wifi bar showing its reconnecting. So the connection just drops for a second and comes back but it makes video calling and watching videos a real pain. I've played with all the settings. Read every forum post related to wifi. I've deleted the wifi settings, reset them, tried just about everything but it just keeps persisting. I've even tried changing the router settings, tried changing the wifi channels but no luck.
So I guess my question is, is this likely a hardware problem? Is it possible the screen replacement home how damaged the antenna cables behind the screen? I can post the wifi diagnostics I've run through monitoring the wifi connection when it dropped. But I don't know which file in the zip has the relevant info.
