Has anyone else purchased mirrored screen protectors for their iPhone X and found they can no longer use facial recognition?

Just purchased a mirrored screen protector, which I really like, but now my face recognition will no longer work. I tried to “redo“ my face, and as I was going through the process, I could clearly see my face in reflection open parentheses the reflection of the camera, not the mirror), so not sure why it’s not working now. Just want to know if other people have experienced this or if I should be brightening the screen or something.

Is the screen protector covering any portion of the TrueDepth camera? That would be my first question.

Given the difference between taking a selfie style photo, and the way the TrueDepth camera sends out a scan to recognize the face, I'm guessing there is something about the screen protector that is blocking that. You can test it by removing the screen protector and see if your Face ID will work.

I would check with where you purchased this screen protector and see if they have ones that are better designed for the iPhone X and higher. They should have a notch in the top to prevent any interference with the camera and other items in that area, such as the camera and proximity sensor.

Yes, but still, I can take a picture of myself when I switch the camera around from the default, which is strange (to me). Please see pics below....and sorry for the awful pic of me, but just so you can see what I mean (pic of me is with the same screen facing me as the pic above).
