I just imported some photographs into Photos Version 3.
I created a new album, and want to add the photos to that album. I've tried to drag and drop the photos into that album. Fails.
I've attempted to right click and "add to" to the album. That also fails.
Any suggestions on how to resolve this are greatly appreciated

You should be able to drag selected photos to an album in the sidebar, or to ctrl-click one of the selected photos and select "Add to ..." and select an album name. But this will only work for standard albums, not for smart albums or folders.
You created a standard album, right?

Correct, this was for a standard album, not a smart album or folder. The "drag and drop" and "ctrl-click" were not functioning. It is performing normally after I performed the Safe Mode boot suggested by Jeremy_V.

Hi -- this worked, thank you. Safe Mode did not indicate any problems, but when I completed the restart, Photos was functioning as normal.
