Macbook Messages App

Hello,

I am trying to connect my phone number to my Macbook messages so I can have my texts forwarded to my laptop but for some reason when I'm trying to do that my email address is appearing when I text people instead of my number. How could I fix this so my number is only attached?

Can't get phone number on messages in mac I've followed the steps that apple provides, I've checked if my number was linked with my apple id account. But my phone number doesn't even pop up as an option in the 'You can be reached for messages at:' box, and when I've signed out and resigned in with my apple id it still doesn't pop up. Is there a place where I can add it in manually?

In Messages, go to

Settings -> iMessage

and choose the appropriate "Start new conversations from" entry from the box at the bottom.
