Cannot Swipe down on either side of my iphone X notches

I would try restarting the device first, if that doesn’t resolve then look in Settings>General>Accessibility for Voice Over and see if it was turned on by accident.

You could go into Settings>Control Centre and toggle “Access Within Apps”, that might kick things going again.

Also give the screen a good clean with a microfibre cloth, and if you use a screen protector test without it.

If non of the above works you could try “Reset All Settings” in Settings>General>Reset, you will not loose any content but preferences get reset, so have your WiFi password hand.

I’ve heard of screen being unresponsive, especially in cold weather (but that’s usually intermittent) and Apple have an advisory out with regards to screen modules.

I run an X (one of the first released) and have only had one issue with the screen, the oleophobic coating started to come off in places after a few months. They replaced the screen for me, and haven’t had any further problems, of course they may have took the opertunity to update associated hardware but not aware of that personally.

The only way to check if it’s not software related is to Restore the device as New, if it still happens then it’s a good chance it’s hardware and a visit to the Apple Store will be necessary to have then check it out.
