Can I trade in device from overseas?

Hello,

my husband is traveling to the US next month. We are interested in trading in my IPhone 6 Plus when he is there and buying a new IPhone.

  • Is this possible to trade in devices from Europe?
  • Does he need to book an appointment to do so, or can he just walk in? He will be in Washington DC
  • Is there anything else he would need to bring with him except for an IPhone and the accessories?

thank you for your help.

best regards

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 12

Welcome!

We are end users like you, not Apple employees, and this Apple article on the program does not seem it include that information: Trade in with Apple GiveBack - Apple

so I think a definite answer requires contacting the Apple presence, if any, in your country.

This set off an alarm. In most situations, iPhones are ONLY warranted in the country in which they are purchased. If he has an issue with the phone requiring warranty service, is he willing to invest in another trip to the US?
