On my Apple ID account i see this message "Your payment information is currently unavailable. Please try again later.".

Also, when i try to login on appstore, it doesnt work. The login pop up goes away and nothing happens. Im just able to login again, but it wont actually log in. When i try to download any free app, i get a pop up to login and after typing my password i get an error saying :"the purchase couldnt be completed, com.apple.commerce.client error 500". Any help? I remember using icloud/apple id long time ago but this is my first time on macbook pro.

I believe that the error is due to the incorrect payment method that im not able to change myself. Can anyone reset that for me?

Do a backup, preferably 2 backups on 2 separate drives.

Quit the application.

Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J.  When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder.  Select Library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.appstore.plist and com.apple.appstore.commerce.plist.  Move the .plists to your desktop.

Restart the computer, open the application, and test. If it works okay, delete the plists from the desktop.

If the application is the same, return the .plists to where you got it from, overwriting the newer one.

Messages - If you can‘t sign in to your iMessage account or FaceTime on your Mac

Message activation error

Have someone else attempt to sign in using their Apple ID. If they can successfully sign in and use Messages/FaceTime, it may be your Apple ID. Someone I know had this happen and I was able to sign in using my Apple ID. After a call to Apple Support and then being elevated to a tier 2 support person, it turned out it was a problem with their Apple ID. It took the software engineers 3-4 days to fix the problem. When calling Apple, make sure you tell them it is an Apple ID problem so you don't get charged.

You can also try signing in on another device/computer. There have been a couple of posts where people's device/computer was blocked. You will need to contact Apple for that problem also.

There is a contact link.
