Forgot some info.
To delete photo/images in the iOS Photos app, you tap the Edit name in the upper right hand of the iPad’s screen.
The tap Select and start tapping on photo/images to delete.
To faster select more photos/images to delete, tap and hold your finger on one image and slide your finger left or right to select/de-select whole rows of photo/images.
Once you selected all of your photo/images to delete, tap on the trashcan icon in the upper left of your iPad's screen then tap the Delete Photo/s button/prompt to delete these images.
Deleted photo/images go into an album/folder, in the iOS Photos app, called Recently Deleted.

Go into the iOS Photos app, under the Album menu, look for an album/folder called Recently Deleted.
From there, you can either wait the 30 days for the iPad to delete these images automatically, OR you can manually and quickly delete these photos/images off of your iPad, yourself.
Be advised this Recently Deleted folder/album is a saftey net for any photo/images that are accidentally deleted as the images in this album/folder can be restore to the Photos camera roll from this album/folder location.
When you manually delete photo/images from this album/folder, they will be deleted and GONE PERMANENTLY from the iOS Photos app, with no more chance for recovery ( unless you have a backup of these images elsewhere, like iCloud, Google Drive/Photos, Flickr, and similar online/offsite data storage or images backed up on a computer through either iTunes, the Photos app on a Mac or other means of getting photo/images onto a Windows PC ).
Best of Luck to You!
