why is dictation not working on iMac?

dictation is not working on my iMac? What reasons could cause that?

Dictation I have just replaced my old 2013 MacBook Air with a new model running Big Sur OS. I have never had any problem using Apple's built-in dictation software, and it mostly still works ok. BUT whatever I try and cannot seem to get a response to the "new paragraph" and "new line" commands. Does anyone out there have the same problem, or a solution to suggest please? Thanks

Dictation fails and deletes all text already dictated I have this utterly annoying behaviour on macOS dictation. I start to dictate and after a while dictation stops and deletes all text already written. I googled all around for this and I need to know if anyone else is experiencing this problem and ideally how to solve it. I've already tried all fixes to problems with dictation without any result.
