Ipads and Android Phones

Does anyone know if the Messages app on iPads will work with an Android phone user? I know with my iPhone and MacBook I can send text messages to Apple products, Android Phones, and Google Phones. If someone owns an Android phone and an iPad, will the phone link up to the iPad and work the same way?

iMessage is Apple’s proprietary internet messaging service. iMessages can only be sent and received between Apple devices.

You cannot share messages between an Apple device and an Android device since Apple’s iOS continuity feature is not available for Android (it is an Apple iOS and Mac OS feature only), nor can an Android device use iCloud for messages in iCloud.

So an iPad cannot be paired with an Android cell phone to send/receive SMS/MMS texts, like an iPad which is paired with an iPhone can do. An owner of an iPad and an Android phone will find the iPad is solely restricted to iMessage and other internet based messaging services (Skype, Google Hangouts, etc).

Your post is a little confusing. It sounds like you're talking about sending/receiving SMS text messages between iMessage and Android users but then it also sounds like you're asking about pairing Android phones with iPad devices. The only thing you can do is sending/receiving text messages between Android and iPad+iPhone. Like others have said, there is no way to pair an Android phone with an iPad like you would do with an iPhone.
