Shouldn't be a problem. If you clone your current system, or have an up-to-date Time Machine backup, you should be able to use this on the new machine and your particular version of Logic and prefs and key commands, your current OS, all your files and _esp._ all your plugins should be ready to go. Then you update to Mojave and latest version of Logic (or vice versa).
Or you could start fresh with Mojave, download Logic from app store (I'm assuming it knows you're a logic owner), transfer over key commands, re-install plugins, etc. Hassle, but it's nice to be fresh and squeaky clean.
If you clone to an external drive, you can boot right from it to see if your iMac has hiccups running your old system. (hold option when booting). You can not boot from a time machine drive. Instead it just reinstalls the backed up state of things to the drive in the iMac.
TM is very slow (could be overnight if you have a big backup or slow drives). Cloning is fast (and esp. booting from clone which takes 0 time)
I've used this for years without any issue, 100% free: https://www.shirt-pocket.com/SuperDuper/SuperDuperDescription.html
Not sure if i've used it since APFS though...
There's also CarbonCopyCloner which is supposed to be at least as good as superduper, but IIRC there's less functionality (if any) for free.
