SymUIAgent deinstall

Just started getting the SymUIAgent needs to updated message on my iMac. I haven't been running Norton for years. All info or software for deinstalling is at least 5 years old. Is there a deinstaller for Mojave 10.4.3?

Is "SymUIAgent.app" a necessary item on my MacBook Pro. I continue to get a message that "SymUIAgent.app" will not work on future versions on my computer. I work with a macBook Pro late 2013 (Retina, 15-inch) using MacOS Mojave Version 10.14.4. I no longer use any Symantec software to my knowledge. When searching for "SymUIAgent.app" I find 2 entires. "/Library/Application Support/Symantec/SymUIAgent/SymUIAgent.app/Contents/Resources/English.Iproj" and "Users/eHw/Library/Preferences". What, if anything, do these do for the wellbeing of my computer. Can I just delete them, or will that cause problems. (There is a Symantec icon on my opening screen menu bar which I have not been able to shut off. I suspect it is related, but have no clue how.) Thank you for any help you can offer. elHW

How do you remove Norton SystemExtension? Norton SystemExtension 9.0.2 created May 13, 2020 has crashed my MacBook Pro 60 times in the past three weeks according to the attached EtreCheck report. I'm running Catalina 10.15.6. I've run the RemoveNortonMacFiles.command 8.0.2 to remove all Norton files but the file wasn't removed. https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/home/current/solutions/kb20080427024142EN Norton SystemExtension 9.0.2 is an executable located at: /Library/SystemExtensions/*/com.symantec.mes.systemextension I cannot manually delete it. I rue the day that I ever purchased and installed Norton Security and Norton 360. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Check with their developers. You should not be running any antivirus, cleaning or any type of "maintenance" apps for Mac OS. Mac OS is extremely secure and if simply kept up-to-date will remain so. Third party AV apps such as Norton off ZERO benefit and often create more harm than good on Mac OS.
