hi guys
I run High Sierra 10.13.6 from Samsung 970EVO with Lycon DT-120 M.2 PCIe card on Mac Pro 4,1-5,1. it boots fine but is recognise as external drive so bootcamp will not allow me to install win on it. is the any work around this. I want to split this drive and install win10.

I was installing win10 usin dvd EFI option ant that what happened. Now I use “other” option using dvd and take longer to start installer but after finish everything is fine mac os on pcie and win10 on ssd both booting no problem.

You can install Windows on internal drive and then clone it to the external storage, as long as the PCIe card supports booting Windows.
As a test, remove all disks, expect the SSD and test.
Not unless you can install it directly on the motherboard. It cannot be recognized as an internal drive because it is considered external on that card. You may install Windows on the internal startup drive.
EFI Boot on MacPro 4,1/5,1 is not supported. The legacy BIOS works much better. If the designated Windows disk is formatted as a MBR disk, and dedicated to Windows (should be physically less than 2TiB disk), then it is a much simpler setup.
I left NVMe drive alone for Mac OS X and get SSD in bay 1 for windows. install fine with few restarts but again after restart when win 10 was in desktop I only see win logo and then restart. don't know why ... any idea guys ?
