Sometimes when or if the message settings use MMS instead of SMS text, or iMessage (between Apple devices)

you may see additional words in the message. There may be an unnecessary setting or Contact incorrectly used.

An icloud.com setting could also route your email through messages. Sometime these appear to recipient as

iMessage (if mac to mac or apple device) instead of SMS text or iMessage. More than one possibility involves

the general topic; I was able to resolve a mess vaguely like one you touch upon. ~ Took three hours, plus my

iPhone (changed settings, and then used menu shut down) ~ & also restarted Mac; triple-checked settings.

{..Had iMessage-sent Gmail, via icloud.com with blue text balloons, and so on..}

Yet your mileage may vary and antics to resolve the matter may require different steps; and patience.
