I have an early Apple tv model MC572LL/A and when I show a film over mirring from the iPad pro it is only about half the size of the screen but it shows full size through Apple tv from the iMac also when watching a film it stops over the Apple tv but still runs on the iPad pro. Any ideas also does anyone think will it show full screen if I purchase the latest Apple tv?

If the movie is in widescreen it will still have black bars on top and bottom, however it will also have black bars on either side due to the fact that the iPad's display is not in the same aspect ratio as your TV. The iMac's display can mirror in full screen as that display is 16:9
If that's not what you're experiencing then it's best to post a screenshot
The iPad display is 4:3 whereas your TV is 16:9 so the image isn’t going to fill the screen.

If the iPad only shows in 4:3 why does the films show in wide screen and as I said it only fills half the screen in wide screen format do you think its a problem with the iPad or useing the HDMI? Plus when the Apple tv comes through from my iMac it fills the screen!
